pgAdmin3-1.6.0 and wxWidgets-2.7

As pgAdmin team recently released the 1.6.0-beta1 of their tool, I’ve modified one of the ebuilds from Gentoo tree.

Latest pgAdmin requires wxGTK 2.7: lucky enough, wxWidgets team has released a package with the beta of their library.

Here are the links to Gentoo bugzilla with the ebuilds

If you want them, compile them, test them and report feedback!

I was looking into writing my own ebuild for pgadmin3 as well… even tried, but failed to get pieces together… now, will give it a try…

Just remember that these are beta versions. Mart Raudsepp, that I’ve discovered is both a wxWidgets and a Gentoo developer, told me that wx will be out on november.
Be sure you do not have much dependencies on wxGTK-2.6, as things may break.
Anyway, pgAdmin 1.6 is much cooler that my old 1.2!

For quite sometime I’ve not used pgadmin3 in my daily work… mostly CLI or squirrelsql. Today decided to get back pgadmin3 - it’s much faster compared to squirrelsql (java based), which runs not that good on my laptop (512mb ram only)… Untill I’ll get RAM upgraded to 2gb - will be using pgadmin3-1.6.x
